Salon Policies & Appointment Information
I am no longer accepting new feline clients.
Nail trim appointments do not require a deposit.
When entering the salon, please ring the doorbell at the counter once and allow us a few moments to greet you.
All haircut services include a full bath. Stand-alone haircuts without a bath are not offered.
If your pet is scheduled for a haircut, please text prior to your appointment with your desired style and an example photo if available. This helps ensure we are aligned on expectations.
All pets must be current on vaccinations in accordance with your veterinarian’s recommendations. By booking with Minipaw Spa, you agree to these policies.
If you are hoping to schedule sooner than current website availability, feel free to text to inquire about possible openings. Additional appointments are often available.
Understanding Nervous Behavior at Grooming Appointments
Every dog is different, and their reactions to grooming can vary. About half of the dogs who visit absolutely love coming in and are excited to be here, while others may feel nervous.
Grooming involves a new environment with different sounds, smells, and sensations, and dogs are also briefly separated from their owners. Some may shake, which is a very common stress response and does not mean they are being hurt.
Many dogs relax once settled, and most do very well during their session. I keep each appointment calm, structured, and predictable to help every dog feel safe and secure. With consistency and familiarity, many become increasingly comfortable over time.
PricingWhile a general price list is available, final pricing is determined by the time, care, and level of work required to groom each individual pet. Factors such as coat condition, size, behavior, and style requests can all affect the final cost.
In most cases, I can provide an estimated price after seeing your pet. Occasionally, the full scope of work may not be apparent until grooming is underway. If that occurs, I will communicate with you directly before proceeding.
My pricing reflects the quality of care provided and over 20 years of professional grooming experience. I strive to keep all services fair, transparent, and competitive within the industry.
Timing & Appointment Flow
Grooming time varies depending on the size, coat condition, behavior, and services requested. Appointments may take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours. Haircut services typically require a minimum of 2–3 hours to complete properly.
In order to maintain a safe and focused environment, I kindly ask that clients refrain from texting or walking into the salon to check on their pet’s status. Interruptions can delay the grooming process and disrupt concentration while working. Reaching out will not expedite completion time.
I take my time with each pet to ensure quality, safety, and a low-stress experience. This thoughtful approach may take longer than some higher-volume salons, and I understand that this may not be the best fit for everyone. My priority is always your pet’s well-being.
If there is an unexpected delay, I will communicate proactively. Of course, if an unusually long time has passed and you are concerned, you are welcome to reach out.
If you prefer your pet to be completed earlier in the day, booking the first appointment slot at 10:00 a.m. is recommended, as that pet will naturally be finished first. These appointments may require advance scheduling.
If you need your pet completed by a specific time, please discuss this prior to booking rather than the day of the appointment.
Special Handling & Behavioral Considerations
If you are a new client and your dog displays aggression during grooming, has a history of trauma related to grooming, is heavily matted, or has a medical condition or disability that may affect the grooming process, please contact me prior to scheduling an appointment online.
This ensures I can allocate the appropriate amount of time and provide the safest, most supportive experience possible. Appointments involving these circumstances must be arranged directly and should not be booked through the website.
If texting is not convenient, you may leave a detailed voicemail describing your pet’s needs, and I will respond via text message.
Injuries & Consistency of Care
Over the years, I have treated many pets who have been unintentionally injured during at-home grooming attempts. While it is always your decision to groom your own pet, if repeated at-home grooming results in injury or significant behavioral regression, I may decline future appointments.
Part of my work involves building trust and positive associations with the grooming process. When a pet experiences pain or trauma, it can significantly set back that progress and make future grooming more stressful for them.
Consistency also plays an important role in a pet’s comfort. Dogs often become more relaxed over time when working with the same groomer in a safe and predictable environment. Switching between groomers can sometimes interrupt that progress and, in some cases, may lead to increased anxiety or behavioral challenges.
If a pet returns with heightened difficulty due to prior experiences, additional handling time may be required, and pricing may be adjusted accordingly.
Your pet’s care decisions are always your own. My goal is simply to be transparent about how consistency and safety impact your pet’s grooming experience. Thank you for your understanding.
